Summary of case: Appellant argued that the Tribunal were agreed that his convictions were genuine and sincere and “recommended him for non-combatant service only…The fact that he has a brother in the Army seemed to point out that the conscientious objection only arose recently possibly since the passing of the Military Service Act.” James Bosomworth objected to the setting up of a standard for conscientious objectors arguing that each case should be decided on its merits. “I cannot differentiate between combatant and non -combatant service, for to assist in the taking of human life is as wrong as actually doing it.”. James Bosomworth states his work is of national importance.
