Summary of Case: IAnson had been granted a one month exemption on 30 Mar 1916. He applied for, and was granted, a further three month exemption from 4 May 1916. IAnson worked as a shepherd on a 400 acre farm. The military representative appealed the decision on the grounds that IAnson was under the age of 25 years and therefore should not have been exempt under the regulations. He also thought that IAnson was not a full time shepherd.
