Summary of case: On 23 Jan 1918 Tinsley was granted exemption to 1 May 1918. A further appeal allowed his exemption to 1 Sept 1918. Tinsley appeals again, stating that he is the only wheelwright, joiner, undertaker serving various moors villages and the farmers there. He also works at the only sawmill in the dale. Additionally, he has a smallholding. If he were to be called up it would cause serious hardship.
