I am in sole charge of 10 men, 12 horses and three Sawmills. I also have a greengrocery, egg and rabbit business at Leyburn which has taken over 10 years to build up. Before the war I employed three men and now have only my wife left in charge and my son having joined up in January when he attained the age of 18. I can only get home once in three weeks.
