Summary of case: As the only man and tenant manager of an important Optical business attending hundreds of sight-testing cases and repairs to spectacles and eyeglasses generally, and having a delicate and nervous wife, who for many years has had to spend at least three months of the year in bed through sickness needs all the care and support possible. If called to the colours it would mean that the premises would have to be closed down, leaving my wife quite alone, without a home and no one to take care of her.
