Summary of case: I carry on business as a cycle dealer and repairer and as a motor engineer at Falsgrave Road and Belle Vue Garage, Scarborough. At the outbreak of War, I had 3 men employed in my cycle business at Falsgrave Road in addition to my garage staff. This is the only man I have left in my employ and he has sole charge of the cycle repairing shop and from time to time helps in the garage. I have post office contracts and other important work. This man is quite indispensable. Both my sons joined, and one has been killed. The man suffers badly from rheumatism and in 1911 was off work for 19 weeks and had serum injected twice during his lengthy stay in Hospital.
