Summary of case: 11 August 1917 exemption granted to 1 Jan 1918. This was then extended to 31 July 1918. Morris's father was Austrian and his mother Russian. They have not been naturalised. His father has not been in contact with anyone in Austria for 20 years and left Austria 40 years ago. One of the other three sons is in the 31 Middlesex Regiment. The other two sons are with the Yorkshire Regiment. The business is the sole support of the parents and their four sons. The father is incapable of working as he has had a stroke.
