Summary of case: The case went directly to the North Riding Appeal Tribunal as it was on the grounds of conscientious objection and could not be deal with by the local tribunal. The man had been an electrician but had come to work on the farm as he was a conscientious objector. There is also correspondence about supposed comments made by members of the North Riding Appeal Tribunal and reported in the press after Ingle stated that he would rather go to prison for ten years than be in the Army. A complaint was made about this, but the claims were denied by the Chair of the North Riding Appeal Tribunal.
