Summary of case: Randall was granted a series of temporary exemptions, the last to 19 May 1918 provided he continued to work in munitions for three days a week. Randall asks for another exemption stating: ‘I am working at the Skinningrove Iron Works, blast furnaces putting full time in, as ordered to do by the County tribunal at Middlesbrough…..I am just recovering from an attack of influenza and strain from over work [he is running his own business as well as munitions work] The doctor says I have worked myself to a standstill. As soon as I am strong again I intend to go to the works to put full time in as ordered. I have put in a year and a half ‘s work of national importance and not lost any time till this breakdown last week.’ [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/4984]
