Summary of case: Paxton has served previously with the Territorials, he claims he was invalided from the front as unfit for service and was discharged as a time expired man. He underwent a medical board in 1916 and declared unfit for service. He is working as a bootmaker, one of only four in the town and the second oldest of them. He works 12 hours a day and still cannot meet the demand of his workload. The local tribunal state that he has been passed as A1 and that no concerns had previously been raised about his physical condition.
