Summary of case: On 25 June 1918, the local tribunal granted a temporary exemption to 2 September as they were of the opinion that having regard to his health and medical category was doing more important work in civil life than he would be capable of in the army. His work consists of two days per week for the York and District Farmers Auction Mart Ltd, three days per week working t on the land at Grimston, 1 ½ days per week slaughtering for Messrs Crow Brothers, York. Tolson appeals this decision and states that in his opinion this man was medically grade 2 and should be in the army.
