Summary of case: On 11 June1918 the local tribunal granted a temporary exemption until 1 Dec 1918 on the grounds that he was employed by Martin McKay, iron and metal merchant and marine store dealer, who had business obligations to the munitions industry. McKay stated that Yeadon is the only remaining man in the scrap metal business who can do the heavy lifting required. He collects a truck load of bones every month for use in the munitions industry. The national Service representative appealed the exemption.
