Summary of case: On 8 June 1916 the local tribunal gave him an exemption on condition he remained in the same employment this was extended on 13 December 1917 and reviewed and withdrawn on 11 June 1918. Murphy who works as a labourer in the potato business now states that he is a widower whose three young children are out to keep at the cost of 10/- per child per week. He is now a labourer for Mr Polano who has an important contract with Messrs Bell Brothers of Port Clarence.
