Summary of case: Yeomans is the only assistant employed at Amos Hinton & Sons Ltd. The remainder of the staff consisting of eleven females and one boy. Yeomans is in charge of the provisions department in which a very large quantity of bacon and ham is now being handled every week. He also attends to all the shipping orders and the requirements of the naval units stationed here. ….if he is not allowed to remain in his present work we shall be faced with acute difficulties in attending to the large numbers of customers who are registered with us for their supplies of food.’
