Summary of case: Charles Rudd works for his father on a very hilly farm and he is the only man able to do the ploughing. William Rudd states that he has two other sons in the army, both of whom have been wounded, and he suffers from a bad heart. If Charles Rudd is taken into the army then his father would be forced to give up the farm. Rudd has a certificate from the War Agriculture Executive Committee which allows him the right to appeal against his conscription, number 1319
