Summary of case: ‘In support of the appeal this man is irrepairable on the farm partly owing to his father been subject to lameness in the knee maiming him. Have to leave all to his son for days until the knee has had time to gather the usual strength the next son only ten years old, this farm been very un-level no one but a real man is any good to work the horses on it his father before him been lame was a first class horseman and after we employed first class horseman until our son was able to work the horses himself.’ Lamplugh has a certificate from the War Agriculture Executive Committee which allows him the right to appeal against his conscription, number 976
