Summary of Case: There had been a previous application for exemption while a substitute could be found. The farm is 218 acres, much of it hilly, with 99 acres of ploughing and a range of livestock. A strong man is needed to carry feed over the hillsides. Billett is a good all round worker. One other man is employed but is not strong following an operation. A discharged brother is also at home at present. Decision stated that he did not need to join the Volunteer Training Corps. Billett has a certificate from the War Agriculture Executive Committee which allows him the right to appeal against his conscription, number 592
