Summary of case: In his appeal to the local tribunal, Schott stated that he is the sole supporter of his 80-year-old father, 75 year old mother, and 41 year old sister who is blind, deaf and dumb. He carries on an old established business on his own with only 2 girls to help him, and he works 12 to 13 hours a day. Thinks he could not stand any strenuous work after working inside for 30 years. Willing to join a local force. He was granted a temporary exemption to 1 October 1918 and the national service representative appealed against this decision.
