Summary of case: Beswick said he could not manage his stud without Watson's help. He had lost horses through unskilled assistance. He also said that Watson had rheumatism and supported his widowed sister whose husband was killed in the war. The local tribunal could not support this and dismissed the appeal, saying he was not to be called up before 2 June 1918. However he was granted leave to appeal.
