Summary of case: M J Pratt said her son was needed to work on the farm and that her request was supported by the War Agricultural Executive Committee, certificate enclosed. She said the land could not be worked by Woman Land Workers, for example they could not go on to the Moor after the sheep even in good weather, let alone snowstorms, as there were some 120 sheep gaits [sic]. She was a widow with heart trouble and Bell Pratt was her sole support. He had had previous exemptions.
