Summary of case: ‘Humble argues that he has many public appointments amongst others Vice Chairman of the North Riding Territorial Association, Alderman of the North Riding County Council, Chairman of the Hang West Branch of Magistrates, Special Constable Commander, the Chairman of the Hang West emergency Committee and Member of the Central Emergency Committee, and it is most expedient that he should have an efficient Chauffeur and attendant to carry out my public and other duties. Humble is responsible for the entire work of the electric lighting of Bolton Hall stables and Farm stables. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/4580]
