Practically all the work I do is for local Ironstone mining firms and farmers in the district. There is only one other saddler in the mining area of Guisborough. We cannot keep pace with the work which is actually and urgently required. I work long hours and cannot get assistance. If I go the business will close and local mining firms and farmers will be seriously inconvenienced.’ [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/4362]
