Summary of case: Whitley had worked as a journalist but gave up due to chronic ill health (Graves' Disease, Neurasthenia and Dilation of the Heart) Received one previous exemption to 31 Jan 1918. He was now graded category 4, the equivalent of rejection. A letter from the North Riding Appeal Tribunal explains that there is therefore no need to go on with the application as if he were to be re-graded he could make a fresh claim.
