Summary of case: On 1 November 1917, exemption allowed to 1 January 1918 to undergo an operation. He appealed for an extension as the operation had not yet been carried out. He also states that he is 38 and has a wife and two children who are solely dependent on him. The eldest child is slightly paralysed. Clifford suffers badly from bleeding piles, he is on the waiting list for an operation, and also has a discharging ear and deafness. He claimed to be in a certified occupation.
