On the 25 June 1918, which was unsuccessful. I desire to carry my appeal to the Central Tribunal and ask you to go into the facts of the case as stated in my appeal form, and grant me the necessary permission to do so. I am absolutely a one-man business. I supply over 150 shops with stationery paper, hardware and small ware. I am the only wholesale merchant in this line who calls on most of these shops as mine is a country connexion (North Yorkshire and South Durham). My business has taken 12 years to establish and I have about £250 out, and a normal stock of £500-£600. I have no other means except a War Loan of £200. My wife died 8 months ago, after being ill for 13 months her illness cost me £300. I have one delicate child 12 years old, with just myself to look after her. I am responsible for the welfare of y infirm and aged parents both over 73 years of age, as my brother who looked after them is now in the Army. I am 39 years old, with chronic asthma, 5ft 6in tall and only weigh 7st.2lbs. I passed C.1 on my first examination and B.1 last June. I am a member of the Civil Guard (Special Constable) and have made 100 attendance. I served my apprenticeship as a painter and worked in the shipyards previous to commencing this business.
