Summary of case: Moverley states he has heart trouble, plus a wife and child who were delicate. He worked all the time on his land when not delivering milk. His solicitor also referred to certificates from two ‘Private Medical Men both of whom certified him as unfit for Military Service as he is suffering Phthisis and Rupture .. he used to be a blacksmith but he had to give it up on account of ill health’. The solicitor said that from his own knowledge Moverley was not fit for Military Service as he is very often ill in bed. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/3866]
