Summary of case: Previous appeal decided 20 Oct 1917, allowed exemption to 1 Jan 1918. Fawcett runs two cars and employs one man who has been discharged from the navy. He does a lot of work for the Military and Balfour Beatties, the war agents. He is also a special constable, despatch rider and in the motor transport section of the Volunteer Training Corps. He also does motor repairs for the local doctor and for farmers and commercial cars. One son is in the army and his other 3 children are under 12. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/4332]
