Summary of case: Previous appeal 16 May 1917, allowed six month's exemption condition on his working two days a week for other farmers, as his own place is only 23 1/2 acres, and attending Volunteer Training Corps [VTC] drills. He holds certificate from the War Agricultural Committee. In this appeal he submits that the VTC condition is unreasonable, as his farm is very hard to work, he has no help on his own farm and has to work 2 days on neighbouring farms, and he is three miles from the local Volunteer Training Corps centre, on roads that can become impassable in winter. The North Riding Tribunal's information is ' that the Commandant Volunteer Training Corps makes due allowance for bad weather and other seasonal happenings'.
