Summary of case: Previous appeal decided 12 May 1917: allowed exemption to 31 Oct 1917. Beadle snr is a miner at Woodlands Colliery, 8 miles from home, which job he is not allowed to leave. He also has a 61 acre farm which his son runs, with some help from an 18 year-old sister. He has advertised for help to replace his son, but had no replies.
