Summary of case: This man has full charge of our Branch at Brotton where we are doing a weekly trade of over £800. He is the only man we have left in the Grocery and Provision Department, the rest are in the Army and have been replaced by females. We are distributing a vast amount of foodstuffs in this Munition area, and find great difficulty in keeping the departments going, owing to the shortage of labour.
