Working in a local gas works covering a range of jobs due to ‘depletion of staff through enlistment’- clerk, showroom, distributes fittings to workmen which requires technical knowledge, weighs the coal, coke, tar and liquor in and out of the works and fixes meters and assists stokers when necessary. He has had 7 years training to this work and is the only clerk and collector employed by the company. If ‘this man is taken the working of this company’s business will be severely interfered with’. The company consider he is engaged in a reserved occupation under list D’
