Summary of case: in June 1917 the military appeal was dismissed, man allowed exemption to 1 December 1917 conditionally on his working part time on neighbouring farms. The case by his employer was that he is the only keeper on the Estate, has to keep the rabbit population down to protect crops. He is classed C2 and is a Special Constable on duty three nights a week and has been helping farmers all through hay time and harvest as instructed by the Middlesbrough Tribunal.
