Summary of case: In July 1917 Noble was granted exemption to 1 Oct 1917,conditional on his working two whole days a week on the land to the satisfaction of M.R. Stokesley and to keep a diary of work done. His case was that as a Master Tailor making, repairing and altering clothing for a wide and scattered district chiefly for farmers with a 200-300 customers, working on his own, his employee having been killed in action, he has therefore more work than he can get done without the two days out. His wife is delicate, requires a lot of support and cannot possibly carry the business on. He would suffer financially.
