He had since worked on a farm of 25 acres where the three sons were in the Army and he was the only man. He had medical certificates testify to his physical condition for over 12 years. The local tribunal dismissed the appeal and recommended him for clerical work. In their evidence to the North Riding Appeal Tribunal the local tribunal understood this man was wanted by the Paymaster at York and that he had been offered a situation there to do clerical work. He is understood to be of no use at farming work. He repeated the earlier grounds and added that his medical man recommends me to lead a quiet open-air life to prevent more serious consequences.
