Summary of case: On 12 Oct 1917 Darcy was granted exemption conditional on his obtaining work on the land. His solicitor, C H Mennell of York, writes to inform the North Riding Appeal Tribunal that Darcy has obtained a position on a farm near Ipswich, and will start work there on 5th November 1917. The North Riding Appeal Tribunal approved and on 19 Dec he was granted a certificate of exemption "conditional whilst whole time engaged in agriculture".
