Summary of case: On 26 June 1916 Taylor had been granted an exemption certificate to 1 Nov 1917. On appeal to the local tribunal by the military representative on 26 September 1916 his certificate was cancelled, as the local tribunal had decided that Taylor's son and daughter could carry on his business. In his appeal to the North Rising Appeal Tribunal Taylor said that his son had left to join the window-cleaner to H M Commissioners at Leeds.
