In April 1917 Warrener was given an exemption until August 1917 by the local tribunal. In May 1917 there was an appeal by the military representative and this was dismissed. Heworth was given another temporary exemption until Nov 1917, but his case was dismissed by the North Riding Appeal Tribunal on 28 Sep 1917. He was re-examined by the Medical Board at York on 5 Nov 1917 and reclassified from B1 to C3. J B Clarke asks that Heworth be withdrawn from the North Riding Appeal tribunal lists and from York City Council tribunal lists.
