Summary of case: Westwater is an assurance agent for Prudential Assurance Company and doing the work of two agents who have already been called up. A letter supporting the application made by his employer stated Westwater had control of over 3000 policies the premiums having to be collected weekly over a large scattered area. Due to WestwaterÂ’s low classification, B iii, it was considered he was doing more useful work in his present occupation. The military representative appeals on the grounds that it is no longer in the national interest that this man remains in civil life.
