Summary of case: There had been one previous temporary exemption. The appeal is based on his mother's ill health. He does everything for her and maintains the house. There are supporting letters from her doctor and the rector. Also one from Longstaff asking if he could be moved to munition work so that he could continue looking after his mother. Longstaff also suffers from a growth which affects his digestion and his doctor and the military doctor both said he needed an operation. The local tribunal state that his brother and his wife take in lodgers so could accommodate the mother.
