Summary of case: The appellant is a married man. He was rejected as unfit in May of 1916, suffering from palpitation of the heart, weak spine and legs. He went for a further medical examination in November 1916 and received his official Army Discharge. He was examined in January this year, he believes with the same result but he was not informed. He has now been classified for General Service. He requested a further medical examination but he has been refused. He therefore asks that he been sent before a special Medical Board. In Jluly1917 he was examined and has the following defects: A hypertrophical heart with apex beat one space lower than normal; a soft mitral systolic murmur; both femurs deformed through rickets.
