The have three businesses, and supply fish game and poultry to the military at Strensall the infantry and cavalry barracks at York and also the military hospitals. The business had two shops in York and a fish stall in Grimsby. Mr Edwin Waudby residing in York and Mr Fred Waudby at Grimsby. Mr Fred Waudby had a stroke which meant that Mr Edwin has to go the Grimsby when possible. Mr E Waudby has seven sons, five of whom have enlisted. Ernest Waudby is the Head Salesman and manages the shop while his father attends to the Grimsby business. Ernest has been medically examined and is only passed for garrison duty abroad and is not fit for general service. As the business is in wholesale as well as retail, it affects the question of food supplies. The firm respectfully submit that the employee should be granted conditional exemption or a further period of exemption with leave to apply again.
