Boyce’s appeal was allowed and certificate cancelled. However, Brickwell not to be called up until 1 September 1917. Brickwell requested permission to appeal to the Central Tribunal and he completed a notice of appeal in July 1917 which was supported by Scarborough and Whitby Breweries Ltd. Permission was refused.
