Summary of case: The appellant stated that his business would suffer, that his wife and four children under 14 years of age and his sister currently in a nursing home were all dependant on the business for support. It would be impossible to sell the business all his money was tied up in the business and his business connections would be lost to his competitors if he was called up. The local tribunal thought that no financial hardship could be caused if the man joined the army. The business was started after the commencement of the war.
