There is only another trade in this village who only keeps himself employed, and only about half are employed now in Stokesley. I have had to build my own business and have got about 300 customers together which I should loose [sic] had I to close now, as I should suffer financially and would be unable to start again. My business being a practical one I have no one to carry it on. I am placed in the Medical Category C.2. Labour at home. I am willing to work farm labour, 1 day a week or during haymaking and harvest) to the best of my ability so as I could only keep my business together which I have worked so hard to get together.
