I came over to England on 1st September 1915 in response to public appeals made in Vancouver by Commissioners sent from England to induce men to go there to do war work…...since I came here I have been working on the military camp near Richmond….the reason I did not appear before the local tribunal on the 15th instant was that I was ill in bed and overlooked the date of the hearing.”
