Summary of case: The local tribunal had granted Bright temporary exemption, three times, conditional on him remaining in his present employment and appearing before the medical tribunal. The original appeals were by his employer GHT Newcomen, Kirkleatham Hall estate, Redcar stating that Bright was 40 years old and was the only gamekeeper [head keeper] left and his occupation was necessary to keep down game to prevent damage to the farmers' crops and to provide a weekly supply of rabbits and game to hospitals, and various institutions. He was also a Special Constable. He was only passed for C2 on medical examination. The local tribunal dismissed the military representative's appeal against the exemptions.
