Summary of case: Webster works on his father's farm which is a large well run farm. Previously there were four labourers. Two of his brothers are now serving in France. His father Thomas Webster made application in Feb 1916 and twelve months temporary exemption was granted. The military representative appealed against this decision, stating that ‘This man is single and aged 27. Advisory Committee recommended temporary exemption. The local tribunal recommend conditional exemption. The man should be ordered to go on a substitute ineligible for military service, being found.’
