Summary of case: .The local tribunal did not accept that he was indispensable to the business, feeling that an older man could replace him. Agnes Nicholls disagreed and appealed to their decision: ‘Man doing work for younger married man released. In a reserved occupation (Stone hand and maker up) All eligible men in the firm have joined up.’ Included in the appeal is a statement on another appeal form stating that the military representative made misleading statements ‘which have been repudiated since by the Chairman of the local tribunal, and which could not help but prejudice the decision.’[See also NRCC/CL 9/1/3583]
