Summary of case: Maynard Snr had said he needed his son to work on the farm. The local tribunal had recommended substitution on 9 Mar 1917. However, Maynard Snr said this would not help as one new person would need supervision, when his son didn't. Maynard Snr said he had twice ploughed up fields that had been laid by, in response to government calls for more food production. He felt his case had not been dealt with fairly, noting there was not a representative from his district at the tribunal.
