Summary of case: On 14th March the York City tribunal granted conditional exemption whilst in present occupation. On 24th April 1917 the certificate was withdrawn as from 8th May 1917 and exemption made conditional on his obtaining before that date work of national importance. On medical examination he was classed B2 and his employers claimed that he was of more use in his present occupation than he would be in the Army.
